Alex, Will and Dan began life as The DIY Cravings in Surrey, England in late 2002. The idea was, and still is to write and play great pop songs, but with plenty of distortion and raw energy ala The Clash, Pixies, Nirvana.

They clocked up around 30-35 gigs in their first year, mainly around London and Guildford, but this did include a jaunt to New York in the hot summer of 2003. A short burst of the New York music scene gave them all the encouragement they needed to make damn sure they did this for a living one day. They have been continually gigging since, but not at quite the same ferocious rate. The venues and audience sizes though, have steadily improved.

In early 2003 they recorded the 'Bolivia' EP. It was this CD that gained them their first national radio play, after DJ Bob Harris took a shining to 'This Town', leading to numerous plays on both his Radio 2 and 6 Music shows.
