Plans & Apologies - 'Spiderz in The Bar (Part II)

‘Spiderz In The Bar’ has all the elements that have made Plans & Apologies underground favourites for the last few years. A well-crafted melodic pop sound that draws listeners in through its warmly intoxicating musicality, and the wordplay and storytelling of its wry and biting lyrics.

The story of their underground success begins with their debut album, ‘Torn Out Pages From The Middle Agez’, released on Artists Against Success in January 2002. The critical response was excellent, with Drowned in Sound awarding the album 5/5 and Careless Talk Costs Lives magazine writing; “the twee kids have got bulletproof vests on underneath their cardigans and, fuck me, it sounds good”. After  heavy touring, this was followed by ‘The Tree Dee Pee’ EP in April 2005, which further showcased their uniquely poppy sensibility and imaginative versatility.

The band have been described by Drowned in Sound as having “spiky, sharp, intelligent, unruly, thoughtful, spontaneous, creative energy… they sound so genuine, so capable of anything, so fun.” It is this infectious enthusiasm and energy that they now hope to bring to a wider audience with the ‘Spiderz In The Bar’ release.

The single will be issued on limited edition enhanced CD, featuring the promotional video, and b-sides ‘Planes, Trains, and Automobiles’ and ‘Sympathy For A Ghost’.
